This poem was written at a time when my strength and faith were needed the most. My family and I were waiting for news of my son, Matthew, who at that time was missing.
As my mind was screaming, my heart was hoping.
Strong
Like a mountain standing strong
Love and faith can do no wrong
What once was, now is gone
As life begins, a different song
Stripping bare, to see what’s there
The naked truth behind the glare
Revealing what is in us all
A need to rise and then to fall
In the stillness from the sounds
A peace untold is what is found
Where strings on hearts become unbound
And love forever, does surround

My heart is haunted.
Such an intensely emotional time. I can’t fathom. I’ve lost mine to PTSD from war and adulthood and it took years to live inside again.
Hugs and words are just not enough!! ☀️

Thank you I will take the hugs. I wrote this poem just three days before we were informed that my son had been found, sadly never to smile or laugh or love again.
I send to you love and thoughts for your continued healing, for the one thing I have learnt as I get older, is that we are always going to find a new part of us that needs love and understanding to heal so that we may grow into a better version of our already amazing selves 🧡
