There is nothing more soul destroying than criticism, constructive or otherwise.  Encouragement however, brings out the best in us.  We all have a need to be appreciated, recognised and loved, and what better way than when someone is there saying something along the lines of

• You can do it
• I believe in you
• You are doing great

Receiving encouragement lifts and inspires us, and giving encouragement rewards us by making a difference in the life of someone else.  Love is therefore flowing in both directions.  A win, win for all concerned.
